Challenge Bathurst 2019 Experience

Nov 30 – Dec 1, Mount Panorama Racing Circuit

This year, I had the chance to join again the race for Challenge Bathurst. It was an exclusive opportunity to drive your own street car or track racing car on the famous Mount Panorama Racing Circuit. I was able to join the two-day ‘regularity’ activity which consists of six 20-minute sessions that are divided into 5 groups (55 cars in each class).

Me, together with my mates, David Stewart, Alex & Mitchell Chambers, Andrew Woodcock, & Christopher Williams arrived as early as Thursday so we could observe and watch the Supersprint race. Everyone was having a good time and the crowd was full of excitement.

As the temperature reached around 70-80 F°, it was a perfect weather to start the race for the Regularity on Nov 30. I didn’t have any pit crew but my mates helped me through.

It was a fun and memorable experience for having the opportunity to join the race for the second time and I just wanted to share some photos from the said event.

On the second day, we completed the final session of Challenge Bathurst:

As a result, we won the 2nd place for Modern Regularity Group B. Not bad for a second timer, huh?!

Back at the office, the Autoglass Warehouse team are all happy with another achievement we received.

But most of all, I’d like to offer this trophy to my dad, John Rowe. The memories we’ve had while rebuilding our 1979 Mazda RX7 will last a lifetime.
